Guangdong province, which contains both Guangzhou and Foshan, is the centre of China's partition manufacturing industry. The Pearl River Delta's aluminium, glass, hardware and interior fit-out supply chains all converge here, and the resulting cluster supplies both domestic projects and export markets.
For an international buyer, Guangdong is usually the default place to start a partition search — not because every factory there is good, but because the concentration of suppliers makes comparison, sampling and factory visits practical within a short distance.
The province also has the deepest supporting ecosystem: testing labs, freight forwarders, inspection companies and finishing suppliers. This infrastructure is a large part of why Guangdong remains competitive even as labour costs have risen.
Province-level sourcing is too broad to be a quality signal. Always evaluate the specific company and factory.
Costs in Guangdong are higher than in inland provinces; for price-sensitive commodity work, inland suppliers may compete.
Quality variance within the province is extreme, from world-class exporters to small workshops with no testing capability.

Because the upstream supply chain is there. Aluminium extrusion, glass processing, hardware and surface finishing all developed in the Pearl River Delta for the building-materials industry, and partition manufacturing grew on top of that base. Often, yes — labour and land costs are lower. The trade-off is usually in material supply depth, finishing quality and export experience. For standard products in volume, inland can be competitive; for custom systems and tested acoustic products, Guangdong's ecosystem is hard to match.
